Products of sheet metal are of primary necessity for the households of Kullu. As items of daily use sheet metals have swiftly put back the wooden articles. This probably is due to their durability as compared to delicate earthenware.

The raw material is a long ductile sheet. The sheets are imported from Delhi. These are either moulded or cut into required shapes, in order to produce Bukharis (a kind of oven), ovens, boxes, cupboards, etc.

The main areas having shops dealing in sheet metal products are Kullu and Manali.
