Besides traditional handicrafts Kullu Valley extends an ample array of gift pieces. The woodlands of Kullu beget several twigs, cones and branches, which are transfigured into imaginative shapes as they fall aloof from the trees. These are available in Kullu throughout the year but the locals mainly come out with fresh pieces in the tourist season.

The gift pieces comprise of miniature baskets, toys, key rings, momentos, images of deities, photo frames, all made of wood and decorated and colored pine cones. These are mostly made of flakes of pinewood.

The shops dealing in these mainly concentrate in Kullu and Manali towns, Many small shops appear along the highway too displaying their splendid gift pieces.
