The
hybrid and high yielding varieties of seeds have turned out to
be the seeds of prosperity for farmers. The location-specific
hybrid and HYV seeds from reliable sources must be procured, multiplied
and supplied to farmers for increasing their production, income
and sustainability of farming. This needs to be done on a large
scale to cover all farmers. The Department of Agriculture must
encourage and train progressive farmers to produce hybrid and
HYV seeds in the hills on a large scale for distribution to increase
agricultural production substantially.
