TROUT
ANGLING: Himachal Pradesh Fisheries Department offers the
ideal anglers holiday to enjoy the spectacle of variegated Mountains
scenery where Beas river beckons, as it flows through the famous
Kullu valley and Mandi district. This river has an endless variety
of pools and rapids & here one will meet the challenge in
"TROUT".
Trout angling is a popular sport in Kullu valley. The rivers
and rivulets straming down this part of the Western Himalayas.
There are several sites along River Beas and its tributaries
that have plentiful trout fish. These are Kalath, Katrain, Raison
and Seobagh. The 35 km long stretch along River Parbati is known
for its fantastic size of trout. Larji to Ropa in Sainj Nullah
are idyllic trout fishing sites. River Tirthan offers you trout
angling at numerous spots.
Trout fishing in these rivers and streams takes a break during
winters i.e. from November to February. You need to have permits
for trout angling and these are available at the tourist information
centres and the fisheries offices in the valley.
