These efforts of Bhuttico has not only been recognized by its
valuable base but also by the State and Central Government in
terms of various awards it has received from time to time. "Bhuttico"
started exporting to the U.S in 1980 but gave it up because
of the heavy demand for its production the domestic market when
the valley opened up to the tourist trade being the valley is
connected now both by road and air. Over the year, it has increased
its capacity through various means of incentives, better handlooms
and other managerial efforts.
As
this industrial cooperative was born from a group of very poor
weavers, Bhuttico does not loose the original vision of the
weaver and Mr. Ved Ram Thakur, the objective of which is to
create a classic product of the best quality possible and market
it at the most competitive price and at the same time bring
in more and more weavers into its fold and in the process increase
the number of happy families. Bhuttico of late has gone in for
weaving of Blankets in pure wool and has also introduced made-up
in the form of shirts, jackets etc. from hand-woven quality
tweeds. Bhuttico is now seriously looking at the export markets
for its products and is developing additional manpower and backup
system for production of quality products and timely deliveries
at most competitive prices.
In the final analysis the objective of 'Bhuttico' is to serve
the weave in terms of remunerative wages and serve the customer
with competitive of prized quality product.
